Another notable, the mortgage is paid off - Yipee!
I was hoping to get some Christmas baking done today but instead, I attended our church's mini-AGM and accepted a position on our Vestry which apparently is going to be know as the Church Council. Years ago my parents had an ashtray that said "Plus que sa change, plus que se la meme" - the more things change, the more they remain the same. This is my 3rd time on Vestry but as we have been members at our Church for almost 30 years, that doesn’t seem like a huge commitment.
It was been a nice long weekend. On Friday, I had the day off so Andy (formerly known as Steve) and I attended the Festival of Crafts here in town. The only thing I objected to was the $13 for parking then $14 admission for the 2 of us - $27 before we even got to buy anything!
We didn't buy very much but I got some real lavender - it reminds me of old lace hankies. I seem to remember reading somewhere that it is a sleep aid so I have a little bag in my pillow and I am hoping.
Friday night we went to a Christmas Open House. Ed decorates the house beyond belief - he and his "kids" start in early November - I think he said that he has about 500 Santa Clauses (Clauss?) and I can well believe it. And that doesn't include snowmen, nativity scenes, trees everywhere including each bathroom etc. If his house cannot put someone in the mood, they really need help.
I need to get downstairs and dig out my "Office" Christmas box of decorations so I can take them in tomorrow and get going. Next weekend will have to be baking because we are doing a cookie exchange at work and I want to participate.
Well, Blog, I hope to get back to you again shortly.
